Police are getting ready for more riots as the football season begins. The Sun reported that far-right troublemakers are planning to cause more chaos as the new English football season starts this weekend. There seems to be a connection between football hooligans and the far-right underworld, according to The Times.
The National Police Co-ordination Centre is collaborating with football authorities, stadium security, and stewards to prevent any disturbances. Prime Minister Keir Starmer cautioned at an emergency Cobra meeting that the police need to remain vigilant. Far-right individuals are organizing 11 more riots in secret Facebook groups across locations like Ballymena, Newcastle, Liverpool, and others.
These troublemakers plan to cause chaos during the opening weekend of the new football season and continue into the following month. They also intend to target events like Shrewsbury’s Flower Show. The far-right groups aim to gather in different cities, starting in Ballymena on a Friday and moving to Liverpool, Shrewsbury, and Salford on the following Saturday. Subsequent protests are planned in Taunton, Birmingham, and Dover, with more scheduled in places like Glasgow and Birmingham in the future.
The large demonstration in Shrewsbury is reportedly organized by members of the local hooligan firm English Border Front. So far, the protest has been kept off social media to deceive authorities. There is an estimated 250 participants, including hooligans from other cities.
West Mercia Police stated that they are not aware of any unlawful activities in the coming days, but they remain watchful. Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for another emergency Cobra meeting to address concerns about potential new riots. The timeline of violent riots across various cities has been a cause for worry, with clashes between rioters and law enforcement officers leading to arrests and destruction of property.
The recent surge in riots and violent behavior is alarming, and authorities must remain vigilant to prevent further chaos and maintain public safety. It is crucial for law enforcement agencies to work closely with communities, football authorities, and security personnel to address the root causes of such disturbances and ensure a peaceful environment for everyone. Vigilance, preparation, and effective responses are essential in handling such situations and protecting the well-being of individuals and communities.
