A recent study conducted by Berkshire Blanket & Home Co. revealed some interesting insights into Americans’ preferences when it comes to lazy days and leisure activities. The study, which surveyed 2,000 Americans, found that the average person needs around 60 days of laziness per year to feel truly rested and relaxed.
According to Mei Higgins, the vice president of merchandising at Berkshire Blanket & Home Co., lazy days are essential for self-care and wellness. The study also found that almost three-quarters of respondents believe that lazy days are crucial for self-care.
When it comes to planning lazy days, the study found that one in five people plan their lazy days in advance, while 67% prefer to take their lazy days spontaneously. Additionally, some forward-thinking individuals even schedule their lazy days weeks in advance.
The study also delved into the activities that people typically engage in on lazy days. On average, people spend two hours lounging in bed, an hour eating, three hours watching movies and TV, an hour reading, and two hours scrolling on their phones. Other activities include napping, dreading the next day, and simply doing nothing.
In terms of the ideal lazy day outfit, respondents agreed that a breathable and lightweight outfit is essential. Additionally, the perfect cozy blanket is described as fluffy and big enough for two people to snuggle under.
Essential items for a lazy day include a comfy outfit, a cozy blanket or throw, a clean home, a shower, and ample junk food. The study also found that around 75% of respondents are more likely to spend their lazy day lounging around if the weather is cool and gloomy.
Overall, the study highlights the importance of taking time to rest and relax, especially in today’s fast-paced world. So, on National Lazy Day on August 10th, take some time for yourself and indulge in a day of doing nothing. Remember, self-care is essential for your health and happiness.
