Leanne and Dan, a couple from South Africa, have transformed a Ford Transit van into a cozy tiny home on wheels that allows them to live off-grid and travel all around the world. Known as The Buddymoon on YouTube, they shared the amazing conversion they made to the van, including a kitchen, dining area, bedroom, and even a makeshift shower.
The couple purchased the red Transit van in Scotland and completely revamped it by installing a 10L sink, new stove, water pump, and water boiler. The interior features hand-crafted wooden countertops, navy blue cupboards, and a cozy grey undertone that creates a warm atmosphere. Despite being 175cm tall, Leanne mentions that the van has a nice height, making it feel spacious and open.
One of the key features that allows them to live off-grid is the presence of solar panels on the van’s roof. With two 100w solar panels charging the batteries underneath the front seats, the van can store up to 230 hours of energy when fully charged. This enables them to travel to various countries like Spain, France, Belgium, and Portugal, although they did face some engine issues while in Morocco.
