A notorious pedophile, Kevin Watson, has been locked up again for engaging in disturbing online chats where he instructed women to sexually abuse their own children. The police found these graphic chats on devices that Watson had tried to hide, leading to his arrest and another jail sentence. Watson, 61, from Stretford, has a history of sexual offenses and has previously been handed a sexual harm prevention order.
During a court hearing at Minshull Street Crown Court, it was revealed that Watson believed he was chatting with a 13-year-old boy and a 10-year-old girl, who were actually undercover police officers posing as children to catch predators like him. In 2020, Watson was jailed for two years for breaching the order. Despite being asked to hand over electronic devices for inspection, he had hidden two additional devices which were later found by the police.
Further investigation of the devices uncovered text message conversations between Watson and four unknown females. These chats were described as extremely graphic and disturbing, with Watson instructing the women to commit sexual offenses against their own children. The women were believed to be from other countries, making it difficult for the police to identify them.
In April of this year, Watson was caught accessing teen chat rooms on multiple occasions, which was a direct violation of the sexual harm prevention order. During the court proceedings, Watson’s defense lawyer, James Hudson, mentioned that his client leads a lonely life and struggles with alcohol consumption, which impairs his judgment. Despite this, Watson expressed a desire to change his ways and avoid longer sentences in the future.
Recorder Geoffrey Lowe sentenced Watson to another two-and-a-half years in prison, warning him about his growing record of sexual offenses. The judge emphasized the seriousness of Watson’s actions and the need for him to make significant changes in his behavior to avoid further legal consequences.
