Katie Price, the former glamour model, is scheduled to appear in court today after being arrested at Heathrow Airport. She was seen in a police van with a head bandage. This comes after a High Court judge issued a warrant for her arrest nine days ago. Katie flew from the UK to Istanbul just hours before a court appearance related to her £760,000 bankruptcy fight.
A spokesperson from the Metropolitan Police stated that a 46-year-old woman from Surrey, referring to Katie Price, was arrested for failing to appear in court. She has been remanded in custody at a west London police station and is set to appear at the Royal Courts of Justice today.
In a statement, Katie expressed concerns about her son Harvey’s well-being amidst the legal issues she is facing. She mentioned the distress it may cause him to witness her detention at the airport. Despite understanding the seriousness of the situation, she feels unfairly treated and hopes for dignity and protection, especially for her son.
The court had previously ordered Katie to make a one-off payment of £25,000 to her creditors, followed by monthly instalments of £12,500. However, she failed to comply with these payments, leading to the current legal complications. Katie was also served an eviction notice for her £2 million home, known as the Mucky Mansion, and was supposed to hand over several cars, including a pink Range Rover, which she has yet to do.
Amidst these legal battles, Katie underwent £10,000 worth of surgery in Istanbul after her regular surgeon refused to perform the procedures for her. She has been staying in a luxurious hotel while receiving various treatments.
