During this year’s Black Friday, many people were busy hunting for deals on electronics, but those looking for affordable holiday packages may have missed out on some great offers from Jet2, TUI, Ryanair, and British Airways. A recent study conducted by Which? revealed that TUI and Jet2 were the top choices for holiday savings during the sale season. TUI had 100% of their holiday deals cheaper on Black Friday compared to two weeks later or in early January, while nine out of 10 Jet2 deals were also more affordable during the Black Friday period.

One of the standout deals discovered by the consumer website was a nearly £300 discount on a TUI holiday to Tenerife. This amazing offer allowed two people to enjoy an August getaway for just £1,768 (£884 per person) on Black Friday. However, the price increased to £2,045 (£1,023 per person) two weeks later before dropping slightly to £1,889 (£950 per person) in January. Similarly, Jet2 also offered significant savings with over £200 off an all-inclusive August break to Fuerteventura. The price for this trip for two was £1,704 (£852 per person) on Black Friday, rising to £1,938 (£969 per person) two weeks later, and then falling to £1,880 (£940 per person) in January.

For those looking for flight deals, Black Friday proved to be the best time to book certain British Airways and Ryanair flights. A British Airways flight from Heathrow to Oslo in March was half the price during the Black Friday sales compared to January, costing only £69. The price then increased to £104 by mid-December and climbed even further to £135 in January.

Ryanair also offered great Black Friday deals on flights. A round trip for two from Stansted to Zagreb over Valentine’s week was priced at £181 (£91 per person) on Black Friday. However, this fare increased to £298 (£149 per person) two weeks later and further rose to £324 (£162 per person) in January. It’s worth noting that savings on easyJet and Jet2 flights were not as consistent, with about half of the flights being cheaper on Black Friday and the other half offering their lowest prices in January.

Rory Boland, the Editor of Which? Travel, advised holidaymakers not to feel pressured to book during the sale season. While there were significant savings last year, there is no guarantee that the same deals will be available this year. Boland also emphasized the importance of booking as far ahead as possible to secure the best prices, as last-minute bookings may not always result in savings. Additionally, he warned travelers to be cautious of scams, especially deals advertised on social media or from unfamiliar companies that require payment by bank transfer.

In conclusion, if you’re still on the lookout for affordable holiday packages, it may be worth checking out the offers from Jet2, TUI, Ryanair, and British Airways. While Black Friday may have some great deals, it’s essential to do your research and book wisely to ensure you’re getting the best value for your money.
