Shortly after midnight on Sunday, a spokesperson for the airport announced the closure, stating: “BHX is currently closed for a minimum of two hours for snow clearing and safety reasons. Please refer to our website and contact your airline for the most recent flight updates.”

Bristol Airport had to suspend operations for several hours on Saturday evening due to heavy snow before reopening at around 11pm. The airport spokesperson mentioned the possibility of “knock-on delays” into Sunday as some aircraft were not in their designated positions, advising passengers to stay in touch with their airlines for further information.

Additionally, a second warning for snow is in place for northern England, encompassing cities like Leeds, Sheffield, and the Lake District, from 9pm on Saturday to midnight on Sunday.
