Natty Agbongiarhuoyi’s Journey of Determination and Hard Work
A Levels are known to be a challenging and stressful time for students, marking the culmination of two years of hard work and dedication. It is a period of celebration for many, as students receive their results with a sense of relief and pride. However, for some students, the journey to achieving success in A Levels can be even more challenging, especially if they have to navigate significant changes like moving to another country or switching schools during this crucial time in their education.
One such student who exemplifies determination and hard work is Natty Agbongiarhuoyi, a student at Oldham Sixth Form College. Natty’s story is one of resilience and perseverance, as he overcame obstacles and challenges to achieve outstanding results in his A Levels. Celebrating his achievements alongside his proud parents, Mary and Samuel Agbongiarhuoyi, Natty’s success is a testament to his unwavering dedication and commitment to his studies.
Achieving an A* in Italian, Distinction* in IT, a B in Business, and a B in French, Natty’s hard work and academic excellence shone through in his results. His parents, beaming with pride, stood by his side as he received his grades, reflecting the years of support and encouragement they had provided him throughout his educational journey.
Natty’s path to success was not without its challenges. Having moved from Parma, Italy to Stevenage four years ago, he embarked on a new chapter of his life in England. As he entered his final year of A Level studies, the now 18-year-old student found himself uprooted once again, this time moving to Manchester. Reflecting on the stress and uncertainty of the move, Natty shared, “It hasn’t been easy over the past two years for me, because I changed school, and to change environment, to change teachers, it wasn’t easy but the school did everything to help me and I am really grateful to them.”
Despite the upheaval of moving schools in his final year, Natty remained resolute in his determination to succeed. Drawing strength from his family’s work ethic and support, he embraced the challenges head-on, committing himself to putting in the necessary effort and hard work to achieve his goals. “I come from a very hard working family, so having the desire to work has never been difficult but obviously you have to do it,” Natty shared.
The sacrifices and dedication of his parents were not lost on Natty, who acknowledged the pivotal role they played in his academic journey. Expressing his gratitude towards his parents, he said, “I owe them a lot, and they are the main people I need to thank.” The support and encouragement he received from his family served as a driving force behind his pursuit of excellence, motivating him to push through the challenges and obstacles he encountered along the way.
Despite the logistical challenges of commuting from Openshaw to Oldham Sixth Form College, Natty remained undeterred in his pursuit of academic success. Enduring long bus journeys and late nights of studying, he remained focused on his goals, knowing that his hard work would pay off in the end. Reflecting on his revision process, Natty shared, “It was really tight, as it takes me about a one hour bus journey everyday to get to school. When I came home from school some days and I would be really tired, but I just knew that everything was for a reason, so I decided to work hard.”
As Natty’s dedication and perseverance culminated in his exceptional A Level results, he found himself pleasantly surprised by the outcome. With his parents hailing from Benin City, Nigeria, Natty understood the importance of his achievements in paving the way for his future academic endeavors. Looking ahead to his next steps in his academic journey, he revealed, “I will be studying International Business Management, I will be doing two years at Lancaster with a placement, and then I will spend two years in a French business school in Rennes.”
Natty’s story serves as an inspiration to students facing challenges and obstacles in their educational pursuits. His unwavering determination, hard work, and resilience in the face of adversity exemplify the qualities needed to achieve success. As he embarks on the next chapter of his academic journey, Natty’s story stands as a testament to the power of perseverance, dedication, and the unwavering support of family.
