Imps vs Barnsley Match Guide: Lincoln City FC Preview and Predictions

As Lincoln City FC gears up to face off against Barnsley this Saturday, fans are eagerly anticipating an action-packed match at the LNER Stadium. To help supporters plan their visit, we have put together a comprehensive guide with all the information you need to make the most of your matchday experience.

Lincoln Pride & Road Closures

This weekend, Lincoln Pride will be taking place on Saturday, leading to some road closures in the city center around Tentercroft Street from 12 noon to 2 pm. Tentercroft Street Car Park will also be unavailable due to the event. The closure of Tentercroft Street from the High Street to Pelham Bridge, along with the Pride parade route, is expected to cause significant delays around the center of Lincoln to the north of the LNER Stadium. We recommend allowing extra travel time and approaching the stadium from the south or east of the city if possible to avoid traffic congestion.

University of Lincoln Fan Village

For fans looking to beat the traffic and arrive early at the LNER Stadium, the University of Lincoln Fan Village will open at 12 noon. The Fan Village offers a variety of locally-sourced food options, including R&N catering, William Wood burgers and donuts, Curry Jacks, Fat Sam’s smash burgers, Coddy’s Sweets, and an ice cream van. Tipsy Imp will be serving a selection of premium beers and ciders, with soft drinks also available on-site. Additionally, the Imps retail unit will be stocked with home, away, and third kits, as well as other exciting merchandise. Fans can also visit the Red Imps Community Trust pod to learn about the club’s history and purchase collectible programs and memorabilia, with proceeds going to the Lincoln City Foundation. Her Game Too, the club’s equality partner, will have a stand at the Fan Village where fans can engage with club ambassador Dominique and learn about their efforts to promote inclusivity in sports.

Improved Catering Facilities

Thanks to significant investment, the LNER Stadium has upgraded its catering facilities to enhance the matchday experience for fans. Self-order kiosks have been installed in the Red Imps Bar in the GBM Stand for quick and convenient service. The Greenlinc Renewables Stand now features four additional catering service points for home supporters, as well as an Industrial Street Food unit in the north-east corner. A new catering point has been opened in the away end to cater to visiting fans.

Family Activities

There will be free children’s football sessions on the 3G pitch opposite the Greenlinc Renewables Stand starting at 12:30 pm every Saturday. Additionally, an inflatable football challenge will be set up in the University of Lincoln Fan Village for fans of all ages to enjoy. The Co-Op Community Hub will host games such as table tennis and Fifa, providing a fun-filled experience for families and young fans.

Supporter Liaison Officers

The SLO team will be on hand around the stadium before and during the game to assist fans. Look out for them or the ‘Here To Help’ team, who will be easily identifiable. Newcomers to the stadium can take advantage of a matchday familiarization opportunity, which is free and requires no sign-up – simply head to the ticket office by 1:30 pm.

Audio Descriptive Commentary

For visually impaired fans, the Imps offer a free audio descriptive commentary service. Headsets and receivers can be obtained from the ticket office before the game. Fans are encouraged to bring their own headphones to reduce shared equipment. For inquiries about the service, contact disability liaison officer Heidi Langham at dlo@theredimps.com.

Teamsheet

Fans can purchase teamsheets for just 50p at the ticket office or the Red Imps Community Trust stand in the University of Lincoln Fan Village. Teamsheets are typically available around 2:15 pm on matchdays.

Car Parking

To ease the pressure on matchday parking, supporters can pre-book parking spots at the South Common. Tentercroft Street Car Park will be closed due to the Lincoln Pride event, causing potential delays in the city center. The matchday offer for Lincoln Central Car Park is also available on a first-come-first-served basis, with spaces likely to be used by Lincoln Pride attendees.

Tickets

Tickets can be purchased at the ticket office or online at eticketing.co.uk/imps. Traveling supporters can collect their tickets from the away ticket office window next to the club shop before the game. The away end tickets have already sold out, indicating high demand for the match.
