Extra stop and search powers are like, totally in place across parts of Manchester right now, y’know? So, like, three dudes got stabbed within 24 hours, which is pretty gnarly. They’re all getting treated in the hospital for ‘serious injuries’, but at least they’re not like, life-threatening or anything. The stabbings went down in Moss Side and Longsight, like, not cool, man.
So, first off, on Friday around 8pm, some dude aged 24 got stabbed on Moss Lane East in Moss Side. He ended up in the hospital with ‘serious injuries’, and the cops haven’t nabbed anyone yet. Then, on Saturday at 5pm, there was a scuffle on Stockport Road where an 18-year-old dude and a 17-year-old boy got stabbed. An air ambulance had to come and rescue them. Plus, some random person handed over a big ol’ knife sheath to the po-po on Lauderdale Crescent. Wild, right?
Anyway, the fuzz have put in place this Section 60 thingy that gives them more power to stop and search peeps in the area. It’s active until Sunday evening, so watch out if you’re in the Stockport Road, Upper Brook Street, Princess Road, Platt Lane, or Dickenson Road hood. The cops are all over the place now, trying to keep things chill and reassure the community. Detective Inspector Richard Struttman is like, “We won’t stand for any tomfoolery in our ‘hoods, so we’re gonna catch those troublemakers and make ’em pay.” So, if you know anything, hit up the 5-0 at 101 and drop those deets. Or call Crimestoppers if you wanna keep it on the down-low.
