Wellness travel is on the rise, and hotels around the world are stepping up their game to offer guests advanced wellness programs that go beyond the usual facials and yoga classes. From sleep tracking to underwater soundscapes, these luxury resorts are taking wellness to the next level.

One such resort is the Banyan Tree Veya in Valle de Guadalupe, Baja California, Mexico. Nestled among the hills of the Baja California wine region, this 16-acre retreat offers guests a unique wellness experience. The resort features its own winery and a spa that combines Asian and local Indigenous rituals with plants from the property’s garden.

Guests can participate in a ritual led by a temazcalero, who guides them through breathing exercises, chants, and drumming to renew their energy. This is followed by time in a temazcal dome where steam rises from hot stones. The resort also offers classes in singing bowl therapy, meditation, aromatherapy workshops, and more. Guests can also enjoy a contemplative walk in the labyrinth, relax in the fitness studio, or take a dip in one of the two hilltop pools.

Each of the hotel’s 30 modern villas is equipped with plunge pools, yoga mats, resistance bands, and singing bowls to enhance the wellness experience. In the evening, guests receive aromatherapy sprays to help them unwind and relax after a day of activities.

Designed by Mexican architect Michel Rojkind, the Banyan Tree Veya is the first standalone property for the Banyan Tree Group’s well-being brand, Veya. Guests can explore the area’s vineyards, visit the hotel’s winery tasting room, and enjoy food and drinks at the pool bar or lobby bar with stunning views of the valley.

For those looking to indulge in local cuisine, the resort’s restaurant, Aldea, offers all-day dining with a breakfast buffet inspired by the region’s flavors. Prices start at 10,745 pesos, or about $580 a night, for a truly unique and rejuvenating wellness experience at the Banyan Tree Veya in Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico.
