During an appearance on Good Morning Britain, Jess Kaur, a member of the choir, opened up about her personal struggles and how being part of Hear Our Voice has helped her heal. Jess shared, “I was at rock bottom, I ended up in a mental hospital. Tried to commit suicide two or three times. I’m putting it all behind me, we’re here today to say thank you to Sir Alan Bates. It’s because of him we’re all sitting here today and we formed this choir… We got the public vote and want to thank everyone who picked up a phone and voted for us. We’re still in a bit of shock.” Jess’s story is just one of many within the choir, each member carrying their own burden from the scandal.
As the choir leader, Mark Wildblood, emphasized the importance of finding closure for those who have been waiting for justice for decades.
