Paris Fury recently celebrated her daughter Athena’s third birthday and took the opportunity to reflect on the little one’s challenging start in life. Athena, affectionately known as Fairy, was born in August 2021 to Paris and boxing champion Tyson Fury, making her the second youngest of their seven children.

Paris shared an emotional tribute to Athena on her special day, expressing her gratitude for her daughter’s resilience and strength despite the difficult circumstances she faced at birth. The proud mum described Athena as clever, beautiful, and amazing, qualities that she never would have imagined given the rough start to her life.

Athena’s birthday was commemorated with a “pink party” at PLouise’s Pink Island Cafe in Stockport, where she and her sister Valencia wore matching bespoke dresses. This celebration marked a joyful occasion for the family after the harrowing experience they went through following Athena’s traumatic birth.

At birth, Athena had a fast heartbeat of 300 beats per minute, which led to various complications requiring her to be transferred to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool. She spent two weeks in the neo-natal intensive care unit, where her parents, Paris and Tyson, anxiously awaited her recovery.

Paris courageously shared the details of this traumatic event in her second book, “How Does She Do It? The Kids, Tyson & Me,” released in September 2023. She described the fear and helplessness she felt as Athena fought for her life, recounting the moment when her baby stopped breathing and had to be resuscitated by medical staff.

Despite the challenges they faced, Athena eventually made a full recovery and was able to return home with her family. Tyson Fury expressed his gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Alder Hey Family House Trust for their exceptional care and support during Athena’s ordeal.

The Fury family’s journey serves as a testament to the strength of parental love and the resilience of the human spirit in overcoming adversity. Paris’s candid account of Athena’s “rough start in life” sheds light on the realities of childbirth complications and the importance of medical intervention in saving lives.

As Paris and Tyson continue to cherish their precious daughter and celebrate her milestones, they remain grateful for the precious gift of Athena’s life and the joy she brings to their family. This story of love, hope, and triumph is a reminder of the power of perseverance in the face of adversity and the enduring bond between parent and child.
