Police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a man who was seen exposing his belly while covering his face with a t-shirt during a protest in Piccadilly Gardens. The incident took place on August 3rd, and the man is one of five individuals that the officers are looking to speak to regarding the disorder that occurred in the city center.
The man, captured in still images taken from videos, was using his t-shirt to partially hide his face, revealing his belly in the process. He also has a tattoo on his right arm. The protest, titled ‘Stand Up For Your Country: Enough is Enough’, drew hundreds of people to Piccadilly Gardens, with a counter rally earlier in the day attended by 350 individuals.
Tensions were high as police officers worked to keep the two groups separated, with a significant number of officers present to maintain order and disperse the crowd. The police are actively sharing images of individuals they wish to identify in connection with the violent disorder that erupted during the protest.
If you recognize the man in the images or have any information that could help the investigation, please contact the police through the MIPP portal Public Portal or call 101. You can also provide information anonymously through Crimestoppers by calling 0800 555 111 and quoting Operation Spindle.
In addition to the search for the man exposing his belly, the police have also shared images of ten other individuals they wish to speak to following similar incidents in Bolton. The authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist in their investigations to ensure that those responsible for the disorder are held accountable.
